Yes, I work for a web start-up operation called hubdub.com. No, this is not a cheap plug. Now that I’m thinking in terms of news and betting, I thought that the following would be a potentially awesome market; however, if I posted it on hubdub, I would have to void it myself.
Question: Will a hipster die as a direct result of Polaroid closing shop?
Suicide? Walking absentmindedly into traffic, lamenting the death of polaroid? News flash.
This came to mind after I voided a question along the lines of “Will someone die as a direct result of Valentine’s Day?” This sad soul thought that there was a 95% chance that it would occur. He even fought with me online after I voided it. Now how can someone die as a direct result of Valentine’s Day? If the death is supposed to do with violence–perhaps quarreling couples or angry exes–it might be triggered by Valentine’s Day, not directly caused by it. Maybe they would choke on a bon bon? Who knows? Now, there are so many other holidays that would make for a funnier fatal correlation. How about Groundhog’s day? Some people are so strange.

This is an astute hipster observation. How could I forget Holga? Do you know there is a Holga called “Diana”? I really want one!
